Pregnancy Course in Frome


    A unique movement-based antenatal course designed to help you move through pregnancy and towards birth with more ease and confidence. Designed to help you stay fit, learn about your birthing body and feel confident about meeting your baby.


    Moving Towards Birth


    Bringing together a blend of simple yoga-based poses, embodied movement and mindfulness with need-to-know info about the transformation through pregnancy and how birth works.

    No experience necessary - join any time in your pregnancy and stay as long as you'd like.



    The more you learn about your body and the process of birth, the more you’ll be able to adapt to situations and take birth in your stride.

    The course will:

    • develop body-awareness

    • learn about pelvic and other core muscles

    • explore active birth positions to work with gravity

    • get ideas about how to work with your body

    • take time to relax deeply

    • meet other expectant parents

    There will be movement for your whole body; heat to toe, wrists, ankles, core and pelvic floor. We’ll also explore some of the key mind-body connections that can help you stay calm and focussed for birth.

    Taking time out to pause and feel into your body is vital in pregnancy; during this part of your life you’re more sensitive emotionally and physically.


    Being aware of sensations, changes and feelings can help you use them to your benefit in everyday life, labour and as a parent, these are embodied awareness skills you can start developing now.


    Each class has an element of guided relaxation, regular cues to help you notice sensation throughout the class.


    Each class will cover one aspect of pregnancy or the birth process, the 6 topics repeat in sequence, with elements changing each time to meet the needs of the group attending.

    Mind & body

    We explore the head to toe of the physical side of pregnancy, and also look at the emotional and social changes that happen during pregnancy.

    Balance & posture

    Yoga can help you adjust to the changes within the body, literally finding your centre and feeling your way through the changes in your body.

    Stay strong

    Keep moving and gently strengthen legs, arms, wrists and core muscles every week to help you stay strong and prepare for birth.

    Sleep better

    Relaxing and feeling more comfortable in your body can help with insomnia. As well as relaxing during sessions, exercising the body can help you sleep better at night.

    Soothe aches

    Emilie teaches specific movement for back pain, achy shoulders and to help balance your pelvis during pregnancy.


    Buidling body awareness can help you birth more easily.

    Breathing easily

    Breathing well and relaxing can benefit the immune system; helping you combat colds and illness.


    Breath can be a calming anchor in life and labour.

    Stress less

    Yoga improves circulation, helping the blood flow freely through the body and providing more oxygen to both mum and child. This may in turn help lower blood pressure and help you stay healthy.

    Feel good

    Classes promote the flow of oxytocin. It’s the ‘love hormone’ that helps you birth and breastfeed your baby. Getting into this zone regularly can be hugely beneficial to prepare for birth.

    Time for you

    Having space and time to adapt to pregnancy and new motherhood can be vital for peace of mind. In classes there’s time to chat, share experience and meet other mums.

    Birth better

    Simple everyday movements can help you work with your body and your baby to prepare for birth. Improve your chances of 'optimal positioning' using biomechanics for birth.

  • About Emilie

    Classes are led by Emilie, a Doula, Embodied Yoga Principles teacher, biomechanics and pelvis geek and childbirth educator. Her approach is science-based, down to earth and trauma-informed. She’s mum to 2 kids and has been working with birthing families for more than 13 years.

    When can I join?

    Anytime time you feel ready - as long as you have the go-ahead from GP/midwives.

    What should I bring?

    Bring a mat / blanket / pillow / water / snack - anything you need to be comfy.

    PLUS a tennis (or other smallish ball)


    What if I miss a class?

    Book in for an online class or watch the recording from home.


    What happens at the end of the course?

    Although the topics repeat it's a little different each time and it can be helpful to revisit topics. You're welcome to take it again if you want to.


    What other support do you offer?

    Doula support, 1-2-1 antenatal sessions and group classes.

    Classes and Workshops

    1. Block Bookings (i.e. a course of classes) may be cancelled in certain medical circumstances by arrangement. If there is a waiting list for your course and a cancellation is made more than 2 weeks in advance of the course start date, I will try and fill your place if. No refunds will be made for cancellations within 2 weeks of the course start date or after a course has begun.

    2. Private Classes will be refunded or rescheduled if 7 full days notice is given, a 30% refund or alternative booking will be offered if more than 48 hours notice is given.

    3. Concessionary Discounts are available - please discuss with Emilie to get a discount code.

    4. A booking is confirmed once I and the client have both agreed a date, time, duration and location fo the session.

    5. I reserve the right to refuse admission.     

    6. I reserve the right to alter the programme delivery or teaching staff if circumstances are beyond my control (e.g. illness, venue problems, emergencies etc.)

    7. If a class or workshop has to end or is interrupted for reasons beyond my control sessions will not be refunded.

    8. Latecomers may be admitted at the discretion of management and teacher/workshop leader.

    9. Timetable may be subject to change during the school holidays.

    10. Refunds will be issues or an alternative offered is sessions are cancelled by us.

    11. Refunds may take up to 30 days to process.

I do my best to ensure that services I use (e.g. Acuity) also uphold your privacy. I cannot be responsible for data breaches elsewhere, if you prefer records to be kept on paper please let me know and we can make that happen.
